Customers must be a piece of crap

Just because one version of a browser displays your site perfectly is not a valid reason to not make your site look as good as it can on all browsers. The thought of this, to me, is preposterous. I’m not going to tell you which site so you can put that to rest.

What I willl tell you is the arrogant fool had the nerve to tell me if I didn’t like the way his website looked I had to change to the browser of his choice.  Considering he was trying to sell me something I really thought that was a poor choice.

Then I remembered that while any damn fool can put up a website not all of them know anything about marketing their site or what might possibly begin to constitute customer service.  Probably one of those idiots who read a ‘get rich quick, overnight’ and decided he was ‘smart enuff’ to put up a website and get rich.

In the real world of brick and mortar stores if one of the associates came off that arrogant and demanding, instead of helpful, you’d leave in a second or two, possibly get in an argument with her and probably complain to the manager.

I hate to tell the guy but on a website their is no manager or boss but you. There is no one to tell you clean up your act or your gone, there’s no one to tell you if you don’t do it right, you’re gone. On the internet you’re just gone if you don’t get it right the first time.

Now the guy is probably wondering why he isn’t making any money. After all, he has a perfect looking website as long as you use the browser he tells you to. It’s the only browser he uses so it has to be good and everyone MUST use it.

Well, he isn’t making any money because he doesn’t cater to his customers. This is the net, not B&M, and customers are gone in a second. It’s not a hassle for them to leave, leaving is always just a mouse click away, and most of them leave quick. Lol, wouldn’t you leave too if you couldn’t see the page.

Nice of him to go to all the trouble to design the perfect page. To bad the other 80% of the world can’t view his page correctly. If they could they might even buy something.  Better arrogant and poor than catering and rich, I guess. At least that seems to be the attitude of a lot of sites lately.

I’d say I might be a dinosaur as I’m perfectly content with MSIE 6 and particularly after I got it to run the way I wanted it to. MSIE7 sucks and I don’t think any of the rest are any better. Can’t really say I’m a diosaur tho as I am writing this on the latest and greatest release of WordPress, on my own domain no less, so I’m not technologically challenged.

I can say for a fact, if you don’t give your customers what they want you’ll not have any customers at all, in a very short amount of time. Realationships is what marketers are talking now days. Seems this guys idea of a relationship is ‘I’m dictator and you are a piece of crap.’ Somehow customers really don’t seem to like that attitude.

At least not where I’m from. It’s a good idea to avoid sites that try to tell you what you must have. This ain’t Sams Club and I don’t have to buy a card, I can hit my back button instead and find someone who does want my business and appreciates it.
