If there is no kid so bad they can’t play in little league baseball why is it that there is a kid that’s only 9 and is considered to good to play in little league?
Wouldn’t allowing him to play make the other kids better? Is it the old political correct BS that he’s so good he’s going to make the other kids feel bad about themselves. After all, it’s why schools now have such low grade floors so that every kid gets at least a D. Sheesh, you almost have to be retarded(Oops, sorry, political incorrectness there) mentally or physically challenged to fail when a passing grade is 60%.
So the kid can throw a 47 mph fastball. It’s his 10th birthday so give him a nice present and let him play baseball. He’s a talented kid but he’s being told to hide his talent and not allowed to display his skills. He just wants to be able to play ball with his friends, not go up into a higher age group.
It’s like being a highly intelligent child and not being called on in class to answer question when they raise their hands. Teachers don’t like to call on them because they know the answer and it makes the other kids look bad.
Don’t damage their fragile egos and self esteem but instead make them all the same. Make them fit the mold rather than encouraging them to even do better. Now just exactly what do you think that does to a kid. Whether in baseball or school?
Telling a kid they’re to good or to smart and to dumb it down or throw the ball slower does NOT help those children. Kinda tells me we’d rather have them all the same instead of anyone standing out. Conform or else.
The USA is not a country that was built on conformity. If it was we’d have a Queen and her name would be Elizabeth. It seems to e we are throwing money at the retarded and taking from the kids who excel all in the name of self esteem. If everyone is the same none have self esteem.
Our differences are what set us apart from others. They are to be celebrated, not hidden away. You really have to be mentally tough to be different. I was considered a problem child at every school I went to. They didn’t know what to do with me so I got A+ on my report cards and sat in school and read comics. I know what it’s like to be different.
It’s just to bad we do this to kids.
